Ms. Empey was disabled for most of her life and had lived the last five years in La Plata, MD, having come from Upper Marlboro, MD. She passed away peacefully at Charles County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in La Plata, MD.

She was daughter of the late John F. Empey and the late Marie R. Ohm Empey.

She was predeceased by her parents.

She is survived by her two brothers, James Caraway and John Caraway, one sister, Mary Empey Wingrove, two nieces, Mary Beck of La Plata, MD and Robin Kawamoto of Kansas, and four nephews, Lawrence Holt of Texas, Steven Caraway, Michael Caraway, and James Lee Caraway. Also survived by several other beloved family members and friends.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, August 24, 2009 from 10 -10:30am at Calvary Grace Assembly of God Church, 10774 Charles Street, La Plata, MD 20646.

A Funeral Service will follow on Monday, August 24, 2009 at 10:30am at Calvary Grace Assembly of God Church, La Plata, MD.

Clergy will be the Rev. Tom Cogle.

Interment will take place at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.
