![]() Craig Lee Hennige, 60, of Waldorf, MD, died August 15, 2009, at Braddock Health Center, Cumberland, MD.
Mr. Hennige was the owner of Motorsports Promotions for over 25 years. He was a graduate of Ballou High School Class of 1966 and a member of Morningside Lions Club. Life-long car enthusiast at local tracks. Raced the "Whooppee Car" from 1971 til the late 1990's, hence he was known as "Whooppee". Represented Oldies 100 FM Radio from 1993 through 2006 as the voice of the Rolling Oldies Show where he appeared at over 1,000 events. Born December 5, 1948, in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Albert Victor Hennige and the late Lucille May Lucey Hennige. Survived by his beloved companion, Patricia Russell; son, Charles "Charlie" R. Hennige of Waldorf, MD; sister, Carol Hennige and her husband Wayne Evans of Mount Airy, MD; nephews, Chris and Jason Evans of Mount Airy, MD. Also survived by many, many special friends. Visitation will be Thursday, August 20, 2009, from 3-8 PM at Middleton Hall on Renner Road, Waldorf, MD. Funeral Service will be Thursday, August 20, 2009, at 7 PM at Middleton Hall. Rev. Smith will officiate. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.
