Ruth Marguerite Cox, 92, of White Plains, MD died on August 4, 2009, at Charles County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on September 15, 1916, in Rison, MD.

Mrs. Cox was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pomfret, MD. She was a life-time resident of Charles County who loved baseball, especially the Orioles and the Washington Nationals. Loved homemaking and get togethers with the family. She enjoyed doing picture puzzles. In her early years, she worked in the finger printing department with the FBI in Washington, DC.

Daughter of the late Joseph Edward Carpenter and the late Ruth Edmonia Cooksey Carpenter.

Predeceased by her parents and her late husband, Jesse A. Cox, Sr., and three late sisters, Catherine Echols, Hazel Wright, and Clara Carpenter.

Survived by three sons, Jesse A. (Dawn) Cox, Jr., of Waldorf, MD, James E. (Elaine) Cox of Fulton, MD, and Joseph W. Cox of Murrells Inlet, SC; two daughters, Ruth Cecelia (Frank) Bohle of Myersville, MD, and Mary Jean Cox of Leonardtown, MD. Also survived by four sisters, Regina O'Malley of Indian Head, MD, Frances Carter of Louisville, KY, Theresa Conner of Waldorf, MD, and Josephine Riley of Indian Head, MD; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Friday, August 7, 2009, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM with prayers at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646.

Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, August 8, 2009, at 11AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Pomfret, MD.

Clergy: Fr. Mark Smith

Interment will be at the Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers: David Flerlage, Jason Bohle, Stewart Riley, Donald Gardiner, Francis and John Cox.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 4590 St. Joseph's Way, Pomfret, MD 20675.
