Myrtle Regina Swann, 83, of Port Tobacco, MD, died on July 30, 2009 at the Charles County Nursing Home, La Plata, MD. She was born on March 15, 1926 in Port Tobacco, MD.

Mrs. Swann was a Custodian with the Charles County Board of Education for over 30 years and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pomfret, MD. She loved her job and being with family and friends and attending parties. She was homebody but did enjoy shopping, going out to dinner, and the movies.

She was the daughter of the late William Alex Swann and the late Sally A. Thompson.

She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, Leroy and Richard Swann, and one sister, Geneva Swann, and one brother-in-law, Dudley Swann.

She is survived by her three brothers, John T. (Pearl) Swann of La Plata, MD, Joseph L. (Dorothy) Swann of Pomfret, MD, and William A. Swann of Pomfret, MD, two sisters, Mary V. Thompson of Pomfret, MD, and Bernice Swann of Spring Hill, MD. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation: Wednesday, August 5, 2009 from 10-11:30am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Pomfret, MD

Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at 11:30am at St. Joseph's Church.

Clergy: Father Mark Smith.

Interment: to follow at church cemetery.

Pallbearers: Matthew Swann, Gregory Swann, James Swann, Barry Swann, Keith Swann, David Swann, and Anthony Swann.
