Nancy Harcar Newingham, 58, of New Castle, passed away the evening of July 5, 2009, in her home.

Born Sept. 28, 1950, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Paul M. and Patricia Tobin Harcar. Her mother survives in New Castle.

She married James Timothy Newingham on Nov. 28, 1969. He passed away May 14, 2004.

Nancy was 1968 graduate of New Castle High School.

She was past president of the VFW 2632 in California, Md. She worked charitable fundraising for the VFW and the Moose Lodge in New Castle, and was an avid seamstress.

Nancy was a member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her mother, one daughter, Kimberly Ann Busby of Lexington Park, Md.; one son James Paul Newingham and his girlfriend, Joanna Hall, of Hollywood, Md.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James E. and Susan Harcar of Monaca, Pa. and Paul E. and Nenita Harcar of New Castle; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Karen and Robert Frank of Charleston, S.C. and Amy Fusco of New Wilmington; five grandchildren, Andrew, Amber, Timmy, Skylar and Madyson; and two great grandchildren, Mary Jennie and Mackenzie.

She was preceded in death by her father and husband.

Visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2009, at the funeral home. The Rev. Chris Weichman of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
