Mary Katherine Pickeral, 82, of La Plata, MD, died July 13, 2009, at Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton, MD.

Mrs. Pickeral was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Pomfret. She was active at Clark Senior Center and won many awards for her art. Loved being with family and friends. Enjoyed gardening and her dog "Molly".

Born March 21, 1927, in Marshall Hall, MD, she was the daughter of the late Edward Eugene Pickeral and the late Anna Mae Allen.

Predeceased by her parents; husband, Wallace M. Pickeral; brother, James E. Pickeral; sister, Alice M. Bice.

Survived by her daughters, Mary Lou Adkins-Palumbo of Hunt Valley, MD; C. Diane and her husband John Dries of Waldorf, MD; Faye and her husband Bob Hallsky of Hughesville, MD. Also survived by six grandchildren, Kathleen, Rodney, Christopher, Amy, John and Matthew; 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 16, 2009, 2-4PM and 6-8PM, with wake service 7:30PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 17, 2009, 11AM, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Pomfret, MD.

Fr. Mark Smith will officiate.

Interment will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery, Pomfret, MD.

Pallbearers will be Rodney A. Adkins, John E. Lochte, III, J. Christopher Dries, Scott E. Schwan, Matthew E. Lochte, Larry M. Pickeral.
