Minetta Hope McCrea of Waldorf, MD, died on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Fort Washington Hospital Ft. Washington, MD. She was 91 years old.

Born October 11, 1917 in Norfolk, Virginia, Mrs. McCrea worked as an Administrative Assistant for a correspondence school. She was a member of the Electra Chapter #2 of the Order of the Eastern Star and a longtime member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Waldorf. She loved to cook and to sew. She was quite the accomplished seamstress, making handmade quilts and crocheting.

She was preceded in death her husband Carson A. McCrea.

She is survived by her daughters Carol A. and her husband Jerry L. Worsham of Waldorf, MD, Janet P. and her husband Gerald Berge of Fredericksburg, VA; grandchildren Lori Spring, Dale Gunn, Michele Robey and Pam Gunn; great grandchildren Tyler, Savana, Sierra, Dale, Jason, Nicholas, Johnny and Brandi. Also survived by nieces Judy Gordon and Kathleen Baccala; nephews Barry and Steven Garnand.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 from 5-8PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel 5635 Washington Avenue La Plata, MD. Funeral Services will be held at 12:30PM on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Piney Parish 4535 Piney Church Rd. Waldorf, MD with the Reverend Joy A. Rose, TSFF officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Bristol, VA.

Pallbearers are Steven Garnand, Barry Steven Garnand, Joe Baccala, Ray Borras, Dale Gunn and Gerald Berge.
