![]() Paul Anthony Van Wart, 68, of Mechancisville, MD died July 8, 2009 at his residence. Born January 16, 1941 in Washington, DC he was the son of the late John Ennis and Mary Barrick Van Wart.
He was the loving husband of Diane Van Wart of Mechanicsville, MD and is also survived by his three sons; Steven Van Wart and David Goldsmith, both of Orlando, FL and Richard "Ricky" Goldsmith of Leonardtown, MD, his brother William "Billy" Van Wart of Great Mills, MD as well as his grandchildren Kandra Munoz, Tina Sater, Tiffany Goldsmith, Krystal Goldsmith, Richard Goldsmith, Jr., Jamey Bassford, Anthony Folks, Amber Mandley, Bud Mandley, Steven Van Wart and Kassandra Van Wart and his great-grandchildren Kiara Munoz, Aliyah Sater, Bella Sater, Skyla Nelson and Aubrey Ann Hall. He was preceded in death by his siblings Margaret E. Smith, Laura A. Comeau, Thomas Van Wart and Joseph A. Van Wart. He served in the U.S. Army for four years and became a barber for 43 years. He loved life, especially when it came to his children and grandchildren. He loved traveling and visiting his friends and he was a Washington Redskins fan. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 12, 2009 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM in The Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel, Leonardtown, MD, where prayers will be said at 3:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 13, 2009 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Morganza, MD at 10:30AM with Fr. Keith Woods officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary's, P.O.
