Mrs. Hooper was a nursing assistant for 30 years with Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She loved cooking and being with her family, she also enjoyed TV, especially game shows like The Price is Right. She often went fishing with her husband. She saw to it that her kids received a good education and she loved the Lord and gospel ministries. She moved to Charles County in 1999 from Baltimore, MD.

She is the daughter of the late Arthur Edward Kelly and the late Elvira Tweedy Kelly.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her late husband, Edward Madison Hooper, Sr..

She is survived by three sons, Edward M. (Juanita) Hooper, Jr., of Baltimore, MD, Brian Keith Hooper of Baltimore, MD, and Kenneth A. (Darlene) Hooper of Baltimore, MD; three daughters, Carmen D. Merriweather of Ft. Washington, MD, Beatrice E. (Isiah) Hemphill of Baltimore, MD, and Linda A. (Russell) Allen of Waldorf, MD; one sister, Beatrice Doyle of Waldorf, MD. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 9, 2009, from 10AM until 11AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

Funeral Service: Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 11 AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel.

Clergy: Bishop George Rodgers.

Interment at Loudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore, MD.
