Kevin Wayne Cornett, 38, of Lusby, MD died June 26, 2009 at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore as a result of an automobile accident that occurred in Lothian, MD. Kevin was born March 23, 1971 in Washington, D.C., and lived in his youth in Prince George's County, Deale, MD and Huntingtown, MD. He attended Deale, Huntingtown and Melwood Elementary Schools, Kettering Middle and Largo High School.
He was an H.V.A.C. mechanic and engineering technician, and was employed as a Program Manager for the Department of Defense at the Pentagon and surrounding facilities, where he oversaw building and maintenance projects. He had been employed previously as an H.V.A.C. mechanic at the University of Maryland Biological Laboratory in Solomons, MD, and also currently worked part-time in security for Catamaran's nightclub, also in Solomons. Among his many interests Kevin enjoyed riding his motorcycle, sky diving, boating and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his mother Ruth Cornett-Rogers of Lusby, daughters Amanda and Analeyse Cornett, both of Lusby, and Maylin Cornett of Odenton, MD; his father James F. Cornett, Sr. of Prince Frederick, MD; sisters Brandy Cornett of Severna Park, MD and Destiney Horseman of Shady Side, MD; a brother James F. Cornett, Jr. of Lusby; grandparents Paul E. and Ruth Meyer Lee of Shady Side, MD, three nieces and four nephews. Arrangements provided by Rausch Funeral Home. Funeral Service July 3, 2009 10:00 A.M.
