Janet Gail Yax, 74, of Port Republic, MD passed away at home on June 26, 2009. She was born July 9, 1934 in Detroit Michigan to the late Norman and Madeleine Smith. Janet was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Prince Frederick, MD and worked for the Census Bureau as a Survey Statistician.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Laura Kathleen Yax of Port Republic, MD and a sister Kathleen Smith Allen of Detroit, Michigan.

The family will receive friends on Sunday June 28, 2009 in the Gathering Room at Trinity United Methodist Church, 90 Church Street, Prince Frederick, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday June 29, 2009 , 11 AM at the church. Interment will be private.
