Robert Ernest Johnson, 82, of La Plata, MD, died May 28, 2009, at Charles County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, La Plata, MD.

Mr. Johnson was a self-employed auto mechanic for over 60 years and enjoyed working on cars.

Born August 2, 1926, in Pinewood, SC, he was the son of the late Robert Johnson and the late May Davis Johnson.

Predeceased by is parents; wife, Evelyn Amanda Howdershell Johnson; brothers, Bobby, Lee and Richard Johnson; grandchild, Robert Johnson.

Survived by his son, Stephen R. and his wife Paula Johnson of Brandywine, MD; daughters, Sharon Oliver of La Plata, MD; Joanie and her husband William Shanholtz of Bryans Road, MD; brother, Charles Johnson of Accokeek, MD; sister, Marie Underwood of Accokeek, MD; three grandchildren, Laura Oliver, Bernie Oliver and Eddie Oliver; one great-grandchild, Auston Thomas.

Interment will be at a later date at Resurrection Cemetery.
