Helen Virginia Stine, 88, of Cobb Island, MD, died May 26, 2009, at Genesis La Plata Center.

Mrs. Stine was a dedicated employee for 18 years at the Cobb Island Market. She was a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Issue, MD. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and picking crabs. She was well known for her famous crab cakes. Helen was a very caring and giving person, always putting others first. She was a loving grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her generosity and kind heart were an inspiration to her friends and family.

Born January 12, 1921, in Charles County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Hardesty and the late Lydia Davis Hardesty.

Predeceased by her parents and her husband, Raymond Augustus Stine, Sr.

Survived by her son Raymond A. Stine Jr. of Mechanicsville, MD; brothers, Bill, Frank, Ernest, Zach, Harry, and Wilford Hardesty; sisters, Lydia "Toots" Stine, Dorothy "Dot" Kiliniski, Anna Hardesty, and Jessie Jenkins; grandsons Thomas, Randy and Tony Stine; great grandchildren Kalee, Corri, Zachary, Rebecca, Peyton, and Troy Stine.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 31, 2009, from 2-4 and 6-8PM with Wake Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD.

Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 1, 2009, at 10AM at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Issue, MD.

Father David Beaubien will officiate.

Interment will be at the Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Thomas, Randy, and Tony Stine, Dennis, Daniel and Jonathan Hengemihle.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Ghost Catholic Church Issue, MD.
