Jane Elizabeth Turner, 92, died peacefully at her home in Avenue, MD on April 25, 2026. She was born in Bluefield, WV on July 8, 1933, and was the daughter of the late Mary Nancy Lawrence and the late James D. Lawrence.

Jane lived in West Virgina, Hawaii and Maryland before marrying the love of her life Jeff Turner on June 2, 1964. Jane bowled duckpin, played softball, volunteered at the St. Clement's Island Museum, A Community that Shares (ACTS), and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was also an avid reader, going through five to six books per week. She liked true crime stories and mystery novels. She loved flowers and spent many hours gardening. She enjoyed traveling to explore new places via car trips, cruise ships, plane and train rides. She especially liked Alaska, although West Virginia always remained her favorite place. She had many tales about roaming the beautiful mountains with her brothers while growing up.

Jane babysat for Kim Tennyson's daughters Nikki, April and Judi until they were grown. They always kept in touch, and Jane loved them all like family.
