Mrs. Cooksey was a homemaker and a life-time resident of Charles County. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Plata. She enjoyed ceramics, reading, nature, was an animal lover, and loved being with family, especially her grandchildren.

Daughter of the late I. Cecil Wise and the late Mary Darnell Wise.

Survived by her husband, Robert Vernon Cooksey; four sons, Robert D. (Leigh) Cooksey of Charlotte Hall, MD, David A. (Veronica) Cooksey of La Plata, MD, Daniel L. (Michelle) Cooksey of Galivants Ferry, SC, and Gary W. (Vickie) Cooksey of Marbury, MD; one brother, William Wise of Marbury, MD. Also survived by nine grandchildren, Megan, Taylor, Kayla, Brett, Rachel, Jessica, Sunday, Kate, and Jacob.

Visitation: Wednesday, May 20, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Raymond Funeral Chapel, La Plata, MD

Funeral Service: Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 11 AM at Raymond Funeral Chapel.

Pallbearers: Ronnie Cooksey, Jerry Michaels, Kent Cooksey, Robert Thorne, Jason Willett, Phil Hamilton.

Honorary Pallbearers: Ricky Cooksey, Jeff Cooksey, Jimbo Cooksey, Floyd Thompson.

Interment at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD.
