Paul Gregory Young, 61, of Loveville, MD passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, with his loving family at his side. Born in Leonardtown, MD and raised in Loveville, MD, Paul was one of eight children born to John Phillip Young and Eleanor Agnes (Price) Young. He is a 1983 graduate of Leonardtown High School; and carried the values of his hometown with him throughout his life.
A man whose life shaped his beloved only daughter, Tamika Young, in many ways. He was more than a father, but also a best friend, confidant that keep her steady and taught strength simply by living it. He lived life on his own terms, and the bond they shared was unshakeable. He loved with loyalty and honesty that will carry on despite his passing. He had a soft spot for his grandson, Ishan, and his great-granddaughter, Ivy, who always brought a spark of joy to his eyes. He cherished life's simple pleasures. A devoted Dallas Cowboys fan-never missing a chance to say, "How about those Cowboys"-he found happiness in both watching and playing hardball. He loved spending time at Budds Creek Raceway, a place filled with excitement, familiarity, and countless memories. Sundays were special too; he looked forward to waiting by the door for his sister Felicia to arrive with one of her delicious home-cooked meals. He was also the kind of man who believed that fried chicken could fix just about any bad day. Those small joys were part of what made him who he was. To know him was to understand that love doesn't have to be loud to be real. Even in his small stature, everyone knew he could be strong when it mattered. His love was steady, imperfect, and deeply felt-and that is the love he gave me. Daddy, thank you for being my best friend, my anchor, and the one person who always saw me clearly. Your absence leaves an ache, but your love leaves a legacy. Rest easy until we meet again. Love you always - your daughter, Tamika. Paul leaves behind his daughter Tamika Young; one grandson, Ishan Young; one great-granddaughter, Ivy Young; four sisters: Margaret Rose Hicks, Christine Agnes Butler, Stacey Renee Kane, and Felicia Rokita Young; and one brother, Lewis Earl Young. He is also survived by his aunt, Mary Hilda Myers (Louis) of Jacksonville; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and many friends, especially Mikey Thomas, the one we could always count on. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, John Philip Young Sr. and Eleanor Agnes Price Young; his brother, John Philip Young Jr.; his sister, Carol Gwendolyn Woodland; his nephew, Jerome Anthony Hicks; and several aunts and uncles. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a Service celebrated by Elder Charles Herbert at 7:00 p.m., at Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A., 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
