![]() William H. "Bill" Bowen, Jr., 64, a lifelong resident of Huntingtown, MD who was known by his family and friends as a "Cowboy", died May 16, 2009 at his residence.
He was born February 27, 1945 in Huntingtown, attended Huntingtown Elementary and graduated in 1963 from Calvert High School in Prince Frederick, MD. He worked as a boiler mechanic, and was a 42 year employee of Boiler Room Specialists, a commercial heating company located in Clinton, MD. Bill was a former member and President of the Calvert County Sportsman's Club, was an avid hunter, loved fishing, and enjoyed raising, breaking and riding horses. He also enjoyed farming and gardening, woodworking, leather-crafting, riding motorcycles and family gatherings. He was preceded in death by his parents William H. Sr. and Irvine Catterton Bowen. He is survived by his wife Monika M. Bowen, whom he married October 3, 1998; daughters Marie C. Cochrane (Dale) and Laurie J. Copsey (Michael), both of Lusby, MD and Janice R. White (Brian) of Huntingtown; step-daughter Kelly M. Burke of Huntingtown and step-son George A. Burke (Andi) of Freehold, NJ; his brother O. Franklin Bowen (Joy) of Lusby; and his sister Sharon L. Wells of Huntingtown. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, three nieces, five nephews and a host of friends. Arrangements provided by Rausch Funeral Home. |
