On February 18, 2026, Jennie Elaine Nash, 92, of Huntingtown, Maryland, passed away peacefully in her home. Jennie was born on August 1st, 1933, to Louise and O. Frank Bowen in Prince Frederick, Maryland. She attended Fairview Elementary School and Calvert High School. She is predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Bruce Nash, a native of Elgin, Illinois. Jennie was fortunate to be the mother of three children: Bradford Nash, Sr. (wife-Dorothy), Jacquelyn Nash, and Joyce Nash-Ewen (husband-Timothy) who all survive her. Her grandchildren are Bradford Nash, Jr. (wife-Kelli), Alan Nash, Matthew Hilldrup (wife-Bowie), Bryan Hilldrup, Christopher Hilldrup, and Amy Ewen. Jennie has one great-grandchild, Brynleigh Nash (Bradford and Kelli). She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Thomas, and nephew, Franklin Thomas, and is survived by her beloved niece, Wanda King.

Jennie attended secretarial school in Baltimore and then worked as a secretary for the law firm of Cushman, Darby & Cushman in Washington, DC where she met her future husband, Bruce. While raising her children in Aspen Hill, Maryland, Jennie volunteered in their school activities and, most notably, served in a leadership role with the Girl Scouts of America for 12 years. When they were older, Jennie went back to secretarial work at Vitro Laboratories for 21 years. Her lifelong joy was arts and crafts and was quite accomplished in knitting and crocheting in particular. After retirement, Jennie and Bruce moved to the family farm in Huntingtown where she continued working as a nanny for two of her niece's children and became very active in the church in which she grew up, Huntingtown United Methodist Church. Along with attending regularly, Jennie was particularly proud of founding an elder volunteer and activity group, The Doers, and she actively participated in bible study groups. She enjoyed playing Hand, Knee, and Foot with friends at the Elks Lodge, reading and jigsaw puzzles, and especially spending time with her family.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Rausch Funeral Home, P.A., 8325 Mt. Harmony Ln, Owings, MD 20736. Services will take place Monday, February 23, at 11:00 A.M. at Huntingtown United Methodist Church, 4020 Hunting Creek Rd, Huntingtown, MD 20639. A reception will follow in the church hall.
