Sharlene Renae Sloan, 31, of Mechanicsville, MD, went home to be with her Savior on Monday, January 5, 2026, after a long battle with cancer.

Born on October 10, 1994, in Huntingtown, MD, she was the daughter of Rhoda and Curtis Grice, of Mechanicsville, MD. Sharlene was the loving wife of Brandon Sloan, whom she married on September 28, 2019, at Mechanicsville Mennonite Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sharlene is survived by her siblings, Sheldon Grice of Mechanicsville, MD, Sharon (Grice) Sensenig of Flatgap, KY, Stephen Grice of Mechanicsville, MD, and Shannon Grice of Mechanicsville, MD.

Sharlene was a lifelong St. Mary's County, MD resident. She was a faithful member of the Mechanicsville Mennonite Church, and was a quiet, gentle person who enjoyed serving others and spending time with her husband and family. Sharlene especially enjoyed cooking, sewing, and caring for children. She will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing her.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Mechanicsville Mennonite Church, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM, with Wilmer Weaver, Merle Torkelson, Nelson Nolt, and Daryl Huber officiating. Interment will follow at the Mechanicsville Mennonite Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Sheldon Grice, Stephen Grice, Shannon Grice, Lyndon Sensenig, Timothy Miller, and Kelvin Weaver.
