John Nelson "Jackie" White, 59, of La Plata, died May 3, 2009, at his residence.

Jackie was a truck driver/salesman for 27 years with Center Distributors and later with United Propane for 7 years, finishing with Southern Maryland Oil for the last three years of his career. He was a six-year veteran of the United States Army National Guard, retiring as a Specialist (V). He loved music (which he was an avid collector of), sports, being at home with his family, and was an animal lover. Also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Plata.

Born January 19, 1950, in La Plata, MD, he was the son of the late Clarence White and the late Martha Bishoff Mitchell White.

Predeceased by his parents, and his brothers, Tommy A. White, William D. White, and his twin brother James D. White.

Survived by his wife, Linda L. White; daughter, Katherine Mae White of La Plata, MD; brother, Clarence E. "Smiley" and his wife Judith White of Thurmont, MD; best friend, Karen Maguire; god father of Tiffaney Beck and Julie McDevitt.

Funeral services and interment will be private.
