Francis Osborne Morgan, better known as Tojoe, born on 25 September 1941, was called home to God from Southern Maryland on 2 September, 2025. He was the beloved son of the late Alfred and Dorothy Morgan.
Tojoe, as he was affectionately known by both friends and family, was a beacon of strength, loyalty and consistency in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey in life was one marked by hard work, compassion, love and unwavering trust in God. His passing leaves a true void of loss in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives he touched.

In life, Tojoe exercised many careers. After birth, he lived the full life of a farmer's son and as he would explain it, he could have you believing he was out milking cows shortly after taking in his first breath of air. Which, in those days isn't "that far" from the truth. As he got older and from sunup until sundown he spent his time learning how to farm and to be a man by working with his father, uncles, siblings and cousins, often returning home at the end of the day with bloody knuckles either from work or from "hard" work. When not working, which for him was rare, he would spend his boyhood hours roaming the shores of Morgan Brothers Farm hunting muskrats and enjoying the company of his siblings and cousins.

At 19, Tojoe took a wife in Mary Patricia Nagle, started a family and started his second, third and fourth careers as a Father, a Waterman and a Carpenter.

As a father, Tojoe took great pride in his children and the fact that through his hard work he was able to send them to Mother Catherine Spalding School, St. Mary's Academy, Ryken and then St. Mary's Ryken High School. Captaining the Miss Patuxent, Tojoe was a staple in St. Mary's County and on the Chesapeake Bay. Always up early and on time - ready to go out oystering, competing with any and all of his fellow watermen for the best haul at the end of the day. On extreme cold days, Tojoe took pride in being the first man at port in Solomons MD. Having outfitted the bow of the Miss Patuxent with a thick sheet of stainless steel, he would use his boat to bust up the ice so that the other wooden boats could easily make their way out to the bay.
When not on the Miss Patuxent or on the farm, Tojoe was a local expert at hand digging shallow wells with a shovel and a bucket. He exercised his carpentry skills by hand carving Mallards, Geese and Swans and by building barns and homes across St. Mary's County. In fact, even today you'd be hard pressed not to pass an old home or building in the county that wasn't touched by his carpentry skill.

As life progressed, farming became Tojoe's "day job". Through the growth of numerous gardens, acres upon acres of tobacco and later, soybeans, Tojoe used the lessons passed down to him to then teach the next three generations of his family what it takes to make a life for one's self.

When not working, Tojoe enjoyed finding treasures at yard sales and exploring the world's varieties of ice-cream flavors.

Tojoe is survived by his sisters: Gloria Westfall, Sue Wood (Michael), Ida Kaminetz (Marvin), Teressa Quade, and Jeannie Carey (Bill). His Children: Gail Wilt (Randy), Douglas Morgan, Mark Morgan, and Pauline Morgan and his Grandchildren: Jason Croson (Micolina), Melanie Quick (Brent), Kasie Buckler (TW), Steven Morgan, Daniel Morgan, Christopher Morgan, Angela Laaro (Casey), Samantha Hadley (Greg) and Elizabeth Morgan. He is also survived by 14 Great-Grand children: Bradlie Quick, Cameron Quick, Faith Croson, Jason Croson II, Aurora Quick, Rylie Buckler, Bianca Quick, Athena Croson, Oliver Buckler, Kyrah Croson, Percy Buckler, Nikolai Morgan, Ronan Laaro and Ruth Hadley who all affectionately knew Tojoe as "Dad-Daddy". He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bernard Morgan.

Although Tojoe's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and drive those who remember him. May his memory and his many teachings be a blessing to all who knew him fondly. And as he would always say to his loved ones.. Remember "If you do right, right things will come your way". And. "I love you a bushel, and a peck, and a hug around the neck…and that's a whole-whole lot" - Dad-Daddy.
