Michael Joseph Cotugno,75, of California, Maryland, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025 at Hospice House of St. Mary's in Callaway, MD with his loving wife at his side.

He was born on January 31, 1950 in Corona, NY to the late Michael James Cotugno and Catherine (nee: Gaeta) Cotugno.

Michael was a 1967 graduate of Jericho High School in New York and earned his Associates Degree from Oneonta College in 1969 in hospitality. On January 15, 1972 Michael married the love of his life, Linda Diane (nee: Yeager) Cotugno in Huntington Station, NY. Together, they celebrated over 53 wonderful years of marriage and raised four beautiful children spending most of this time in Manassas, VA before moving to St. Mary's County 10 years ago. He was employed as a knowledgeable Computer Systems Sales Operator for several contractors and later for himself for over 20 dedicated years.

He was a member the Knights of Columbus – George Brent Council #5332 at All Saints Church in Manassas, VA before moving to Southern Maryland. He was also a faithful parishioner of All Saints Catholic Church in Manassas, VA. While living here he enjoyed attending Mass at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, St. Michael's Catholic Church and Holy Face Catholic Church. He also enjoyed cooking.

In addition to his beloved wife, Linda, Michael is also survived by his children: James Michael Cotugno (Jessica) of Dameron, MD, Melissa Victoria Cotugno of Long Beach, CA and Peter Michael Cotugno (Shannon) of Gainesville, VA; grandchildren: Kaden James Cotugno, Kyler James Cotugno, Nina Sol Cotugno Sandoval and Avery Thomas Cotugno; sister, Mercedes Cotugno of Silver City, NM and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his son, Thomas Michael Cotugno.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Reverend David Beaubien on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 22800 Washington Street, Leonardtown, MD 20650.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Hospice House of St. Mary's, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
