Roger Norman Huot, 83, of California, Maryland, passed away on July 20, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family after receiving his last rites.

Born June 18, 1942, in Manchester, New Hampshire. He was the son of the late Wilfred Joseph Huot and Rita Theresa (nee: Grandmaison) Huot.

Roger married the love of his life, Judith Ann McGlone, on July 6, 1963, in Auburn, New Hampshire and together they spent over 62 years wonderful years together.

Roger enlisted in the Navy after high school graduation and completed basic training at Great Lakes. After training in aviation electronics, Roger reported to his first duty station in Bermuda. Following duty stations included Jacksonville, FL, Quonset Point, RI and Patuxent River, MD. Time was also served in Iceland and Antarctica. Roger was part of the crew that set a world record for a non-stop flight in an RP-3D while doing research flying to the magnetic North Pole and back, 5461 nautical miles. After 22 years in the Navy, Chief Huot and his wife Judy bought and operated Chesapeake Appraisal Service for the next 25 years before retiring to Florida and enjoying golf for 18 years. He returned to St. Mary's County 3 years ago to be closer to family. He loved golf, sailing and a good crab feast. He loved his family and friends fiercely. You could always count on his quick wit and opinion on nearly anything!

Along with his wife Judith, Roger is survived by his children, Melanie Trifone (Johnny), Robyn Kraft, Tammie Conway (Daniel), grandchildren, Kelsey Lara Trifone, Logan Tyler Trifone (Sarah), Danielle Conway (Marcus), and two great grandchildren Jaxon Tyler Schultz and Evie Mae Trifone.

He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Paul Huot.
