Emma Marie "Dolly" Dove, 77, of Newburg, Charles County, MD died April 27, 2009 at Civista Hospital in LaPlata, MD. She was born August 1, 1931 in Camp Springs, MD to Benjamin R. and Mary Smith Walls.

She was raised in the Capitol Heights area, attended Holy Name Catholic School in the District, and graduated from Marlboro High School in Upper Marlboro, MD, class of 1948. She married Oliver H. Dove on June 30, 1948 and they lived in Capitol Heights until moving to Owings in Calvert County MD in 1954. In 1986 they moved to their present home in Newberg.

She was employed as a secretary and department head for the Department of Defense at Andrews Air Force Base in Camp Springs, MD until 1974, when she became a full time homemaker. She was a member of Holy Ghost Parish in Issue, MD. She loved fishing and enjoyed hunting, travel and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Benjamin Louis Dove and a brother Benjamin Walls.

She is survived by her husband of over 60 years Oliver H. Dove, sons James O. Dove and wife Ann of Delta Junction, Alaska, Edward J. Dove of Canaan, Maine and Oliver Walls Dove and wife Immaculata of Newburg and brothers Robert Walls of Palatka, FL and Douglas Walls of Baden, MD. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Rausch Funeral Home, P.A., 8325 Mt. Harmony Lane, Owings, MD on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday May 2, 10 AM at Jesus the Good Shepherd Church, Owings, MD with Reverend Michael King officiating. Entombment will follow at Southern Memorial Gardens, Dunkirk, MD.
