Margaret Elizabeth Gardiner of North Bethesda, Maryland formerly of Golden Beach, Maryland died on Sunday, November 26, 2006 at Buckingham's Choice in Adamstown, Maryland. She was 87 years old.

Born September 14, 1919 in Washington, DC, she is the daughter of the late Mary Theresa and George Ellison Redding. A homemaker and mom, Mrs. Gardiner was also elected as Town Treasurer for Seat Pleasant, Maryland, a member of the Homemakers Club of St. Mary's County (7th District), very active with the Golden Beach Citizens Association and served as a Docent at the Dr. Mudd House. She enjoyed painting, playing the harmonica, crafting, church activities and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Gardiner was of the Episcopal faith and a member of the All Faith Episcopal Church in Charlotte Hall, Maryland.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gardiner was preceded in death by her husband Gwyn Eugene Gardiner and daughter Gloria Jean Gardiner.

She is survived by her daughter Marsha Protzel and her husband Alberto of North Bethesda, MD; son Glenn E. Gardiner and his wife Myra of Raleigh, NC; sister Joan Tippett of Lusby, MD; brother Robert S. Redding of Hedgesville, MD; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren.

Family to receive friends on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 from 4 to 8PM with Prayers at 7PM at the Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. 30195 Three Notch Road Charlotte Hall, MD. Funeral Services 1:30PM Thursday, November 30, 2006 at All Faith Episcopal Church 38885 New Market-Turner Road Charlotte Hall, MD with the Reverend James Hunter officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
