Lester R. Bell "Buddy", age 71, passed away on April 27, 2009 at his residence in Lusby, MD. Mr. Bell was born on September 20, 1937 in Washington, D.C. to the late Roger Asbury Bell and Dorothy May King Bell.

Mr. Bell served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1955 to 1958. In 1958 Mr. Bell went to work for the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, D. C. He remained employed with the police department until his retirement in 1978, when he retired as a Detective Sergeant with the Special Operations Division. Buddy was a member of the Masonic Temple, Camp Springs Lodge 227 AF & AM and Solomons United Methodist Church, Solomons, MD.

He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn L. Bell and his devoted brothers Jerry K. Bell and James D. "Danny" Bell. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 29 at the RAUSCH Funeral Home, P. A., 20 American Lane, Lusby, MD from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at Solomons United Methodist Church, 14454 Solomons Island Road South, Solomons, MD 20688 on Thursday, April 30 at 11:00 AM with interment to follow at Solomons United Methodist Church Cemetery.
