Bailey Michael Helmick, 22 years old from Chaptico, MD. Deceased June 1, 2025. Born on November 28, 2002, he was the son of Joshua Paul and Jessica June Helmick and Amanda May Tippett Moritz.

In addition to his parents, Bailey is survived by his wife, Margaret "Maggie" Mertes, and their three beautiful children, (son) Everett Reed and twins (daughter) Lydia Rose and (son) Lawsen James, his brothers, Zachary Vock, Kaden Moritz, Pierce Helmick, his sister Payton Helmick, and his grandparents.

Bailey was a lifelong resident of St. Mary's County, Maryland. He was a devoted husband and proud father. His greatest enjoyment in life was caring for and spending time with his children, especially riding the lawn mower with Everett "Potomus" Reed and endless naps with Lydia and Lawsen. Bailey was a talented and highly respected Machinist at Webster Field. When he wasn't working or with his babies, he could be found in the woods with his brothers hunting or fishing, or attending his siblings' sporting events, or spending time with his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Bailey loved his family and friends and was loved by all who met him.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.
