Kathryn E. Hinchliffe "Baker"

Passed away on April 18, 2009 at age 98, in Solomons Nursing Center, Solomons, MD, She was born on April 8, 1911 in Donna, TX to the late Charles and Emma Buzzard Burnham.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Virgil Hinchliffe and daughter Sara "Sally" Schultz.

She is survived by her daughter Lois Mailloux, sons Charles "Buz" Hinchliffe and Richard Hinchliffe, nine grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She graduated from Lock Heaven State Teachers College and began her teaching career teaching in a one room school house in rural PA. She was an active member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Solomons, MD.; where she contributed as a Lay Reader and Eucharistic Minister.

She delivered "Meals on Wheels" until the age of 90 and was a Red Cross and Hospital Volunteer. She was a member of the Calvert County Garden Club and the League of Women Voters. She loved gardening, fishing and playing bridge. During her retirement she was "First Mate" to Captain Virgil Hinchliffe on the charter fishing boat "Baker H".

A memorial service will be held at St. Peters Episcopal Church, 14590 Solomon's Island Rd South, Solomons, MD 20688 on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM, followed by a reception at Middleham Chapel Parrish.
