Born on September 12, 1939, in Provo, Utah, to Elwood Dennett and Nettie Hardy Dennett, Karen lived a life marked by faith and service.
She was a devoted wife to James Allen Tripp, who preceded her in death in 2015. She was a caring mother to J. For nearly 60 years, Karen was a pillar of the Amherst, Massachusetts congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her life was a testament to her faith, as she served tirelessly in children and youth programs, women's Relief Society, music ministries, and long hours in youth camp fundraisers. As a young adult, she served as a missionary in Northern California. Her commitment to service was a defining aspect of her character. Karen was a hard-working and strong-willed woman who dedicated her professional life to helping others. She began her career as a social worker at the VA hospital in Northampton, Massachusetts, demonstrating her compassion and dedication to those in need. Later, she and her husband embarked on an entrepreneurial venture, establishing a travel agency. For the last 20 years of her working life, she provided compassionate elder care until she was forced to retire due to health reasons at the age of 82. Karen enjoyed baking bread, working in her garden, working outside, family history, and traveling. A memorial service to celebrate Karen's life will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 23 Brigham Ln, Amherst, MA.
