John David Stefanic, "Dave" 81, of California, MD, formerly of St. Louis, MO, Passed away on March 7, 2025, at his home. Born on February 9, 1944, in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of the late Mary Cecelia Juricic and the late John Matthew Stefanic. Dave was the loving husband of Diane Marie (Pait) Stefanic, whom he married on September 23, 1972, in St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church, Hollywood, MD. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jennifer L. Campbell (Shawn) of Hollywood, MD, Bryan D. Stefanic (Shannan) of Berlin, MD, Rebekah A. Stefanic of Annapolis, MD, and Joseph M. Stefanic of Berlin, MD, his sister, Shirley Wegman of Lee's Summit, MO, and his grandchildren, Alexis Renay Stefanic, Lauren Marie Campbell, Allison Brenna McDonald (Dylan), Kyle Matthew Campbell (Hailey), James Riley Campbell, Destiny Marie Stefanic, Gianna Belle Stefanic, Carmella Renay DelGiudice, Cameron David DelGiudice, Lillian Neveah Stefanic, Damian Michael Stefanic, one godchild, Stella Lillie Ann Wexler, and one great grandchild on the way. Dave was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Mueller.

Dave graduated from St. Louis University High School in 1962 and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from St. Louis University in 1966. He moved to St. Mary's County, MD from St. Louis, MO in 1966. Dave was a Project Engineer for the US Department of the Navy- DOD for 36 years, retiring on March 3, 2003. He was a member of MSPE- Missouri Society of Professional Engineers and IEEE- Institute of Electrical Engineers, as well as a member of St. John Francis Regis Parish.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 10:00 AM, in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD, with Father Ray Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow at St. John's Catholic Church Cemetery, Hollywood, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Joseph Stefanic, Shawn Campbell, Mike Price, Bryan Stefanic, Damian Stefanic, and James Campbell.
