After a courageous battle with cancer, Thomas Raymond Knowlton, "Tom", 57, of California, MD, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025, at home surrounded by his family. Born on June 22, 1967, in Ebensburg, PA, he was the son of the late Mary Pauline Larimer-Knowlton and the late Homer James Larimer.

Tom is survived by his children, RaeAnn Knowlton, and Alec (Courtney) Knowlton, his grandchild, Liam Thomas Knowlton and as Tom would say "with another on the way", his brother, Peter (Carolyn) Knowlton, his nephews, Tyler (Nicole) Knowlton, Luke Knowlton, his great-nephews Robby and Hunter, and great-niece Logan; and the mother of his children, Shari Knowlton.

Tom graduated from Central Cambria High School in 1985. He then served in the United States Navy for six years, from 1985 to 1991. During this time, Tom served on the USS Savannah and served in the Gulf War. He earned the Battle "E" Ribbon, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, the National Defense Service Ribbon, the Meritorious Unit Commendation, and the Navy Achievement Medal. Tom moved to St. Mary's County, MD from Virginia Beach, VA in 1994. He was a Program Manager at FGS LLC, LaPlata, MD for 12 years. Tom was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Tom was a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed cooking, traveling, going to the beach, running, spending time with family, and most of all helping others. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A private service for the family will be held at Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. One of Tom's last wishes was to have "a big party". The family will be holding a Celebration of Life at the Ridge Fire Department on March 8th 2025 at 1:00 p.m. where all are welcome to attend.
