Robert Alfred Holden, "Capt. Bob", 90, of California, MD, passed away on February 19, 2025, in Callaway, MD. Born on September 17, 1934, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Basil Holden and the late Gertrude Smith Holden. Bob was the loving husband of Gail Holden, whom he married on November 10, 1956. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Robert Holden of Leonardtown, MD, Daniel Holden of Reedville, MD, Ellen Mangiafico of Milford, FL, Margaret Kelnberger of Lexington Park, MD, Joann Kohut of Cobb Island, MD, Janet Lynch of Portugal, and Evelyn Nastos of Murphy, NC, and 13 grandchildren, Brett, Bonnie, Jeff, Adamn, Sean, Josh, Julia, Sarah, Michael, Paul, Christopher, Gina, and Jackson. Bob was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles, Richard, Basil, Louis, Paul, Carl, John, Cecil, Helen, Elenor, Grace, Mildred, Margaret, Ruth, Cissy, Hazel, and Laura.

Bob was a mechanic for the United States Government. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and oystering.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 10:00 AM in St. George's Catholic Church Valley Lee, MD. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
