Douglas Carroll Wood, lovingly known as Doug, was born in Prince Frederick, Maryland on December 27, 1940, and passed away peacefully at his home on February 15, 2025.

Doug was a beloved member of the Calvert County Community. He was an Eagle Scout, Scout Master of troop 426 and served on the board of Trinity Church for many years. Doug served his country in the National Guard and was a well-respected local contractor. Doug's life is marked by his dedication to his family, friends and the community he cherished.

Doug is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara Wood; his son, Douglas Todd Wood (Andrea); his daughters, Denise Reece and Darlene Blend, his cherished siblings, Ronnie Wood (Shelly), Carol Philyaw, and Keith Wood (Lou); his beloved grandchildren, Douglas Tyler Wood (Rocky,) Austyn Wood Klages (Chad), Kenny Lagana (Missy), Danielle Lagana, Alec Reece, Amanda Reece, Alyssa Reece; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Kane Lagana, Autumn Traas and Amber Traas, Kendall Sprenger, Willow Wood, and Beau Klages. He is now joyfully reunited in heaven with parents Lucille and Carroll Wood, brother Warren Wood and brother-in-law David Barrett.

Doug will be forever be remembered as a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, a committed member of his church, and a true friend to all. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering work ethic touched the lives of everyone who knew him, and his legacy will continue to inspire us all.
