Carole Ann Farr, 71, of Avenue, MD, passed away on February 15, 2025, in Leonardtown, MD. Born on September 28, 1953, in Leonardtown, MD, she was the daughter of the late June Louise Owens (Ellis) and Irving Bernard Owens, Sr. Carole was the loving wife of the late George Leonard Farr, whom she married on October 7, 1972 in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Avenue, MD. Carole is survived by her son, Matthew Farr (Amy) of Mechanicsville, MD, daughter-in-law, Laura McKinney Woodburn (Patrick) of Clements, MD, three grandchildren, Austin Farr, Madelyn Farr, and Maxwell Farr, and her siblings, Donna Cross (Robert), Bernie Owens (Kathy), and Don Owens (Kathy), as well as many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Todd Farr.

Carole was a lifelong resident of St. Mary's County, MD and graduated from Chopticon High School in 1971. She was a Licensed Beautician, working for Frances "Sookie" Goldsborough at the Pretty Parlor in Leonardtown, MD until the birth of her first child. While staying home to raise her two children, Carole also cared for the children of many family, friends, and neighbors. She also continued doing hair in her home for her many loyal customers.

Carole enjoyed volunteering with the Seventh District Optimist Club, where her husband George was a member. She also sang in the choir at Holy Angels Church for many years. She loved to travel and had many fun adventures with family and friends. Carole collected Longaberger baskets, was very creative, and her gift-wrapping skills were unmatched. She was an excellent cook and loved to host parties. She loved socializing and having a good laugh. To know Carole was to love Carole. She had a contagious laugh and a beautiful smile.

Carole's greatest accomplishment was loving and raising her two sons. She was a wonderful, dedicated mother. She couldn't wait to be a grandmother so she could spoil her grandchildren. While she was waiting for grandchildren, she practiced spoiling and doting on her many nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. Carole loved nothing more than spending time with her family. She loved deeply and was unapologetically herself.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 PM by Deacon Joe Lloyd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM in Holy Angels Catholic Church, Avenue, MD with Father Kevin Fields officiating. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Bushwood, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Farr, Patrick Farr, Timmy Farrell, Travis Farrell, Drew Foster, Jeff Reynolds, Joe Stanalonis, and Ethan Stanalonis. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Farr, Madelyn Farr, and Maxwell Farr.
