![]() It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dianne Emelia Morgan, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Dianne passed away on January 25, 2025, at the age of 77, after a courageous battle with dementia. This cruel disease deteriorated her health in the last few years of her life, causing great pain for her, her family, and friends who loved her dearly.
Dianne was born on December 26, 1947, to Scholastica "Sally" and Lavern Smith in Washington, DC. She spent her childhood in Beltsville, Maryland, where she graduated from High Point High School. In 1967, Dianne married the love of her life, Dennis Patrick Morgan, and together they raised two wonderful daughters, Sherri Morgan of Chesapeake Beach and Laura Lynn Morgan of Hollywood, Maryland. The couple made their home in Chesapeake Beach in 1986, where they created a warm and loving environment for their family. As an Air Force wife, Dianne embraced the challenges of military life, often managing the household on her own while her husband served overseas as an OSI agent. Her strength and resilience during these times were a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family. Dianne dedicated much of her professional life to the Beltsville Veterinary Hospital, where she served for 33 years. Her compassion for animals was evident not only in her work but also in her personal life, as she cherished the many cats she cared for over the years, including her favorite, Fancy Pants. As a stay-at-home mom, Dianne was a creative force, sewing clothes, planning unforgettable parties, and orchestrating memorable family gatherings. She led Girl Scout troops, always finding imaginative ways to celebrate birthdays and holidays. Dianne's radiant smile could light up any room, and her wisdom, humor, and unwavering support nurtured her daughters' dreams and aspirations. Dianne was also a proud grandmother to Laura's two sons, Brendan Patrick Daron and Michael Quinn Daron, who brought her immense joy. She is survived by her husband, daughters, grandsons and her nephew, Sandy Smith of Maryland, as well as a multitude of friends and extended family who will miss her dearly. Dianne is preceded in death by her siblings, Thomas and Pamela Smith, and her parents. She had a zest for life and a passion for travel, always dreaming of exploring Europe, a journey she unfortunately never took. In honor of Dianne's vibrant spirit and loving nature, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tunnels to Towers (T2T.org), reflecting her support for our veterans. Dianne Emelia Morgan will be remembered for her boundless love, kindness, and the light she brought into the lives of those who knew her. May she rest in peace. |
