Elizabeth Cooke Flerlage, 79 of Waldorf, MD died on April 12, 2009 at George Washington University Hospital.

Born on September 28, 1929 at Sibley Hospital in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Elmon and Edith Zirkle Cooke. A Homemaker, Elizabeth moved from Waldorf to the Flerlage family farm in Hughesville during the summer of 1969, where she enjoyed hosting the family for the holidays. She was a great cook and an avid "shutter bug," chronicling the family through the years. She loved flowers and Dashounds. She also belonged to the Waldorf Homemakers.

She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred Joseph Flerlage for 58 years. They married in January 6, 1951 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Survived by her children, Marlene F. and husband, Russell Hoffman, Fred and wife, Margie Flerlage, Bill and wife, Cathy Flerlage, Jef Flerlage, and Nick and wife, Beth Flerlage, siblings, Adele and husband, Mortie Peed, Patsy and husband, Bill Rawlings, William and wife, Kathy Cooke, and Donald and wife, Kitty Cooke, grandchildren, Joey & Jennifer Hoffman, Katie Lecorchick, Courtney & Casey Flerlage, Jessie & Max Flerlage, Chris Flerlage, Zach & Lexie Flerlage.

Family to receive friends to Celebrate Elizabeth's Life on Friday, April 17, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD where the Funeral Service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Paul Goodwin officiating. Interment will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
