Helen Marie Toney Smith of Lexington Park, MD was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the age of 81. She was born on September 13, 1943, to the late George Henry Toney known to most as Temp Toney, and Elizabeth Janet Garner known as Lizzy. Helen married her late husband, Joseph Howard Smith, Jr., February 1959, and was blessed with a beautiful family of 8 children, 23 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren.

She had quite the green thumb, some of her plants so large they covered a front picture window in her house. Her yard was always filled with beautiful flowers. Helen worked domestically at St. Peter's and St. Michael's rectory's until she retired in 2016 due to health reasons. Although she was admired by the priests she worked for, she was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Helen was a praying woman and encouraged everyone to always look to God, continue attending church, and to keep loving and caring for one another.

Helen was known to her family and friends as being loving, caring, and protective of her children and family. She was a loving person and a treasure to know and have as a friend. A picture of her life; she was a family beautician, a cook, ran a private domestic engineering business, ran a private in-home medical care business, and also ran a childcare business. She worked for 14 Priests, and there was one who admired her so much, he would have her breakfast ready before she started her work for the day.
