Steven Alan Belkov, Sr., 66, of Mechanicsville, MD, passed away on January 6, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on October 3, 1958, in Washington, DC, to Erwin Belkov and the late Sandra Belkov. Steve grew up in White Oak, MD and, then, Rockville, MD during his late teenage years.

A Master Plumber/Gasfitter by trade, Steve was a man of many talents. Whether working on projects at home or helping others with theirs, he always found joy in staying busy. He was generous with his time, often putting aside his own work to lend a hand to anyone in need.

On September 7, 1979, Steve married the love of his life, Nicole. The two had known each other since fourth grade in Silver Spring, MD. They were blessed with three children: Steven and Cory Belkov, who predeceased him, and their daughter, Daniele Kennedy (David) of Mechanicsville, MD.

In 1988, Steve and Nicole moved their family to a small farm in Charlotte Hall, MD, where they created lasting memories with family and friends. The farm, complete with amusing stories—such as the unforgettable introduction of Roscoe to Steve, the family's first goat—became a cherished part of their lives.

Steve was deeply devoted to his family. He loved cooking, spending time at home, and enjoying vacations at the beach where he taught the kids how to fly kites. His greatest joy was playing with his dog, Carley, and his grandchildren. Affectionately known as "Pop-pop," he had a special bond with his grandchildren. He enjoyed cooking with them and fixing countless toys, earning a place of honor with a sign in his office reading, "Pop Pop's Workshop."

Steve was a man of contrasts. Beneath his tough exterior was a deeply caring soul who fiercely loved his family. He taught those closest to him what it meant to be truly looked after. He could seem rough around the edges at first, but for those who took the time to know him, they discovered a heart of gold. Even in his last days, Steve gave his all to the people he loved, embodying his selfless nature. His unwavering dedication, humor, and love for his family will forever leave a mark on our hearts.

Steve is reunited in peace with his sons, Steven Jr. and Cory, along with his mother, Sandra, and brother, Larry. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 45 years, Nicole; his daughter Daniele Kennedy and her husband, David, who was a third son to him; his grandchildren: Blaize and Olivia Belkov, Nathan, Jordan, and Katelynn Kennedy; as well as nieces, a nephew, and countless others who lives he touched.

In his honor, there will be no public service, as Steve preferred a quieter approach. In lieu of flowers the family invites donations to the Southern Maryland Animal Welfare League (SMAWL), reflecting Steve's love for animals. Contributions can be mailed to PO Box 1232, Leonardtown, MD 20650, or made online at smawl.org.
