Benjamin Andrew "Bunky" Garner, 70, of Mechanicsville, MD died at his home November 24, 2006. He was the beloved husband of Marie Pilkerton Garner of Mechanicsville, MD and father of Bernadette Garner of Taos, NM. He was predeceased by his father, Benjamin Andrew "Bennie" Garner and mother, Pearl Cassandra Garner.

Mr. Garner was a member of the Maryland National Guard both in Calvert County and St. Mary's County. He was a self employed contractor and truck driver.

Bunky was an avid vintage car and truck collector and was the founding member of the St. Mary's Rod and Classic Car Club. From a small group of members with a few classic cars, Bunky and his club made the annual car show in Leonardtown an event of over 200 cars.

His other interests were trap and target shooting and he loved reading in the evening. Bunky could be seen almost daily taking his dog "Bumper" for a ride.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Brinsfield Funeral Home, P.A. in Leonardtown, MD. Prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 in Our Lady's Catholic Church, Medley's Neck, Leonardtown, MD. The Reverend Thomas G. LaHood will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Fenwick, Michael Dodson, Dickie Huseman, Martin Dudley, Joey Graves and Scott Cheseldine. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Nash von Wolfgang, Chris Scalsky and members of the St. Mary's Rod and Classic Car Club.
