Richard "Dickie" Earl Stone, Sr., 75, passed away at his home in Park Hall, MD surrounded by his loving family. A Life long resident of St. Mary's County, he was the son of the late Earl "Joe" Benedict Stone and Frances Hilda Marie (Nee: Clarke) Stone.
Dickie was born and raised on the Patuxent River. He became a waterman like the other men in his family which he enjoyed doing. In The 70's he became a stock car driver at Potomac Speedway in Budds Creek, MD with many checkered flags. Dickie also enjoyed being a dump truck driver for himself before joining Great Mills Trading Post for over 30 years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and attending many races with his wife and daughter, Cynthia, and watching the Washington Commanders play football. He enjoyed fishing, boat riding, family cookouts, and spending time with family and friends. Dickie married his devoted wife, Faye Inez Stone on January 25, 1968 and together they shared 56 wonderful years together. From that union they raised six children. Dickie enjoyed spending time with his seven grandchildren and great grandchildren that filled his life with love and accomplishment. Along with his wife Faye, Dickie is survived by his children, Linda Tippett, Richard Earl Stone, Jr., (Mary), Cynthia Ann Stone (Darius), Richard A. Stone (Kayla), Heather Marie Stone, Kimberely Dawn Stone (Danny), grandchildren, Nicole Tippett, Courtney Bryant (Kevin), Bobbie Tippett (Tuck), Joseph Stone (Skylar), Michael Knott (Cheyenne), James Stone, Sr. (Kaylynn), Jamie Knott, and great grandchildren, Jordan Alvey, Marcus Alvey, Malachi Tucker, K.J. Bryant, Charlie Woodburn, Kingston Stone, Michael Knott, Jr., Ronnie Knott, James Stone, Jr., Raelynn Stone, and Kaison Stone. Dickie is preceded in death by his only sibling, Joseph A. Stone. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD 20650. A funeral service will be held Thursday December 12, 2024 at 11:00 am at Brinsfield Funeral Home with interment following at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 22020 Chancellors Run Rd, Great Mills, MD 20634. Pallbearers will be Joey Tippett, Steve Topalski, Michael Knott, Richard Stone, and Kenny Shrey. Honorary pallbearers will be his great grandchildren. |
