Steven Wesley Gingery Sr., known to most as Steve, passed away on November 4, 2024, at the age of 65, surrounded by loved ones. Born on January 15, 1959, in Dover, Delaware, Steve grew up in Pahokee, Florida, and spent his later years in Leonardtown, Maryland, where his kindness and warmth left a lasting mark on everyone he met.

A true southern country gentleman, Steve was known for his well-mannered, gentle nature. His soft-spoken kindness touched many, and he was rarely heard without a polite "yes, ma'am" or "no, ma'am." Steve always thought of others before himself, showing compassion and consideration even at the end. He was cracking jokes until the end, always reminding those around him to "keep it light."

Steve had a deep love for the outdoors and a lively spirit of adventure. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching dirt track racing, and he took great pride in participating in truck pulls.

His love for his grandchildren was profound; he reveled in their laughter and accomplishments and made it a priority to create cherished memories with them that will last a lifetime.

Steve is survived by the loving mother of their children, Bernadette Gingery; his sons, Steven Wesley Gingery Jr. and Scott Christopher Gingery; his grandchildren, Memphis Alexander Gingery, Ariella Mae Gingery, and Harper Grace Gingery; and his brother, Jason McCann. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas Dean Gingery and Caroline Gingery (Crosby), and his sister, Cheryl Gingery Wiseman. Steve's legacy of kindness and selflessness lives on in those he loved, and his family will always treasure the joy and light he brought into their lives.

A service to celebrate Steve's life will be held on November 11, 2024, with visitation from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with prayers at 7:00 pm at Brinsfield Funeral Home 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 am on the 12th at the funeral home officiated by Father Chip Luckett. Interment will follow after the service at 38888 Dr. Johnson Road, Mechanicsville, MD 20659.
