James "Larry" Lawrence Nichols, 77, of Mechanicsville, MD, passed away on November 3, 2024, with his loved ones by his side. He was born on February 17, 1947, to Clarence and Dorothy Nichols in Columbus, OH.

Larry was a carpet installer and took pride in his work. He was known for his attention to detail and commitment to excellence, qualities that earned him the respect and gratitude of his many clients. Over the years, Larry developed a reputation not only for his craftsmanship but also for his warm personality and willingness to lend a helping hand.

Larry enjoyed carpentry and was very good at his craft. He also enjoyed playing golf, dancing and fishing. Larry loved spending time with his family and watching sports.

Larry was the proud father of Larry Nichols Sr. (married to Lydia) of Mechanicsville, MD, Tammy Haller (married to Howard) of Waldorf, MD, and Jeremy Nichols (married to Amy) of Avenue, MD. Larry married the love of his life, Richie in 1991 and spent the rest of their years together.

Larry was predeceased by his parents, brother and beloved wife. He is survived by his children, his grandchildren; Larry Nichols Jr. (Abby), Brandie Johnson (Hunter), Peter Bassuk Jr. (Stephanie), Sara Morris (Chris), Savannah Maddox, Ashlyn Nichols, and Jaden Nichols, and eight great-grandchildren; Brantley, Christopher, Khloe, Maddox, Declan, Connor, Peter III, Olivia and his lifelong friend Chris Mattingly and wife Lois.
