Kimberly Marie Schmid, 48 of Mechanicsville, MD died on April 3, 2009 at her residence.

Born on February 21, 1961 in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of Warren Franklin Strantz and Joanne Werner Strantz.

Mrs. Schmid has resided in this area since 1999 and previously lived in Mayport, FL; Oahu, HI; Washington D.C.; and Arlington Heights, IL. She was a Home Hospital Teacher for St. Mary's County Public Schools. She was also a member of Cancer Support Group, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, and Rainbow Via de Christo.

Survived by her husband of 23 years, Peter David Schmid, loving children, Joseph, Jake, Grace, Rebekah, and Ann Schmid, siblings, Kristin L. Gallo of PA, Joseph W. Strantz of TX, and Natalie D. Dopart of IL. Her first daughter, Lauren Schmid, died prior to her one-year old birthday in 1994.

Family will receive friends to Celebrate Kimberly's Life on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 46707 S Shangri Lane Drive, Lexington Park, MD 20653 with Reverend Steve Updegrave officiating. Interment private.
