Cadence "Cadi" Joy Cox, of Waldorf, MD, passed away unexpectedly on October 7, 2024. Cadi was born on July 1, 2004, in Silver Spring, MD to parents John Cox and Lori Arguelles.

Cadi loved and was deeply loved. Cadi loved animals, nature, music, art, poetry, her dear friends, and her beloved Aiden. She was fierce, funny and a force of nature. Cadi graduated from Fusion Global Academy in June and began classes at Warren Wilson College with the intention of studying psychology. Neurodiversity helped make her resilient and strong.

She left this life with the person she loved most by her side, on her way to a place she loved in order to bask in the glow of the brightly shining moon. "I love you" were the last words she spoke and a reflection of her beautiful state of mind and heart.

She is survived by her parents; her sister, Delaney Grace Cox; her grandparents Dan and Shirly Cox and John Arguelles; several aunts, uncles and cousins. along with numerous friends. She will be dearly missed by all who had the gift of knowing her.

On Sunday, October 13, 2024, the family will receive friends for the visitation from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. The service will begin at 3:30 pm at Peace Lutheran Church, 401 Smallwood Dr, St Charles, MD 20602 with a reception to follow. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family offers the opportunity to support the creation of Eveania, a circle of life center dedicated to creating a supportive sanctuary for people to connect with nature, create community, heal and thrive.
