Ann Elizabeth DeMarr Canter, 87, of Aquasco MD passed away peacefully at home on September 18, 2024. Ann was born on December 2, 1936 at Providence Hospital in Washington D.C to the late George Oliver DeMarr and Mary Madge Greenwell DeMarr.

Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, one stillborn (1940) and the late George Oliver Demarr Jr. (1942), her half brothers and sisters Ida DeMarr Sweeney, Alma Mattie DeMarr Canter Richardson, James Oliver DeMarr, Irene Elizabeth DeMarr, Earl Hawkins DeMarr,
Thomas Percy DeMarr, and Louise Lowe DeMarr Grimes.

She was a 1955 graduate of Gwynn Park High School. After high school, she worked for the Prince George's County Public School System, and retired in 1986 after 30 years of service. She then worked to take care of her grandchildren until they were grown. She also worked for ConEdison in New York when her husband was stationed there in the Army.

On May 26, 1956, she married the love of her life, Richard Allison Canter Sr, and together they celebrated over 68 years of marriage. Ann enjoyed crocheting afghans, and making gifts for family and friends. She was also an excellent cook, providing many meals for her family and would have big family get-togethers during the holidays. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband on his Harley Davidson motorcycle, taking multiple trips to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and a trip to Niagara Falls, Canada. She was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church and later St. Michael's Catholic Church for many years.

She is survived by her husband Richard, her children Richard Jr. (Janith), Larry (Betty) and Lisa
Cooper (Rusty). She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Ann Jenkins (Cliff), Larry Canter
Jr. (Alisha), Jennifer Wallace (James), Justin Canter, Sara Cooper and Travis Cooper. She also has 8 great-grandchildren, Benjamin Nolan, Harold Nolan, John Nolan, Elizabeth Canter, Mary Beth Canter, Seth Canter, Colt Wallace, Drake Wallace, and extended family and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 5 PM - 7 PM at the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 30195 Three Notch Rd, Charlotte Hall, Maryland. Prayers will take place at 7 PM.

The Funeral procession will begin at 9:30 am, Tue, October 1, 2024, from the funeral home.
Funeral mass will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at St. Michael's Catholic
Church, 17510 Horsehead Rd, Brandywine, Maryland.

Graveside service and interment at DeMarr Family Cemetery, Aquasco, MD.

Pallbearers will be William DeMarr, Richard Grimes, Kenneth Meushaw, Larry Canter Jr., Justin Canter and Harold Nolan.

Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Canter, Deborah Grimes Boling, Benjamin Nolan, John Nolan,
Seth Canter, Colt Wallace, Drake Wallace, and Travis Cooper.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, American Heart
Association or the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
