![]() Doris Lorraine Bussler, 80, of St. Clements Shores, MD died March 29, 2009 at her residence. Born June 19, 1928 in River Springs, MD she was the daughter of the late Phillip Dominick and Frances Louise Sweeney Gatton, Jr.
She was the loving wife of Joseph Elmer Bussler whom she married on July 14, 1946 in Mechanicsville, MD and who preceded her in death on December 25, 2002. She is survived by her daughter Linda Mae Gatton and her husband Elmer Gatton, Jr. of Hollywood, MD, her siblings; Everette Gatton and his wife Regina of St. Clements Shores, MD, Alfred Gatton and his wife Jeanne of Leonardtown, MD, Ralph Gatton and his girlfriend Gloria of Gambrills, MD, Frances Gatton Morehead of Sarasota, FL Ellen Gatton Hill and her husband Bobby of Sarasota, FL and sister-in-law Betty Gatton of Leonardtown, MD. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jack Gatton of Mechanicsville, MD, Terry Gatton and his fiancé Heather Sams of Hollywood, MD, Susie Clements and her husband Denny of Hollywood, MD and her great-grandson Joseph Gatton, Jr. of Hollywood, MD. She was preceded in death by her brother Calvin Gatton. A lifelong resident of St. Mary's County, she was a graduate of Margaret Brent High School "Class of 1945" and was a Clerk Typist at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station for 25 years. She loved her small community of Compton/St. Clements Shores and her family, grandchildren and great-grandson were her love and passion in life. She enjoyed canning, house plants, fishing, crabbing and also loved to cook. Most of all, she enjoyed caring for her husband. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel, Leonardtown, MD where a service will be held at 7:00 PM with Rev. Sheldon Reese officiating. Interment will be private. Contributions may be made to Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 299, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
