Mark Timothy Cameron "Tim", 60, of California, MD, raised in Hollywood, MD, passed away on May 13, 2024 in Leonardtown, MD just one day after a cancer diagnosis. Born on October 29, 1963 in Leonardtown, MD, he was the loving son of Bernard Franklin Cameron Sr., "Frank", and Catherine Jeanette Abell Cameron, "Jeanette".

In addition to his parents, Tim is survived by his brother Frank Cameron Jr. and sister-in-law Sue Cameron, sister Julie Burgan and brother-in-law Jim Burgan, sister Maria Gassie and brother-in-law Ed Gassie Jr. Tim is also survived by his nephews, Nick Cameron and girlfriend Sheila Meaders, Kirk Cameron, Zack Cameron, Austin Darling, and Jake Darling, his niece Dani Walker and nephew-in-law Roger Walker. Tim also leaves behind his three great-nephews, Camden Walker, Maxwell Walker, and Jameson Walker, who loved him very much.

Tim was a lifelong resident of St. Mary's County and attended St. John's School and Leonardtown High School. Tim was a skilled carpenter who took pride in his work and loved to put his skills to use for his family, whether it be building or remodeling their home, replacing their roof or adding a beautiful deck. But Tim's true passion was being a waterman. He felt at home and at peace on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. This is a passion he shared with his dad who was his best buddy and sidekick. If your phone was ringing before the sun came up, it was Tim asking you to go fishing no matter how cold it was. His family and friends reaped the benefits of his bounty. He found the most joy in sharing the beautiful rockfish or crabs that he harvested. He made every holiday meal and every family gathering even more special by providing and cooking the fish, crabs and oysters. He would patiently pick crabs so he could get his mom to prepare the best crabcakes in the county (true story). But even more than that, he made every gathering special with his gregarious personality and sense of humor. He was the loudest one in the room, and he loved to make people laugh even at his own expense. In Tim's younger days, he was an exceptional baseball player, coached by none other than his best buddy and sidekick, his dad. He also worked the tobacco fields on his grandparent's farm alongside his dad and his brother Frank. Tim was an avid Ravens fan even though his dad preferred the Redskins. It kept things interesting and lively. Tim was also an avid Orioles fan. Tim and his father could always be found watching the games together and it tended to be loud because of their shared passion for sports. Tim took great care of his mom and dad; he chauffeured them to wherever they wanted or needed to go and always brought them food from the restaurant of their choice. He had his struggles in life but was a genuinely kind and loving soul.

For Tim:
Our lives go on without you
But nothing is the same
We have to hide our heartache
When someone speaks your name

Sad are the hearts that love you
Silent are the tears that fall
Living here without you
is the hardest part of all

You did so many things for us
Your heart was kind and true
And when we needed someone
We could always count on you

The special years will not return
When we are all together
But with the love in our hearts
You will walk with us forever

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 29th, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Mattingly-Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown, MD, where a funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM with Father Ray Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Queen of Peace Cemetery in Helen, MD.
