Betty Jean Wathen, 72 of Lexington Park, MD passed away on March 29, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital, Leonardtown, MD.

Born December 23, 1936 in Auburn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick Dennis and Helena Donnhauser and step-father Fred Donnhauser.

Ms. Wathen was a homemaker; she volunteered for Catholic Charities and Share.

Betty is survived by her children; Robert Young of Alexandria, VA, Butch Payne of NY, Kathy Spalding of Callaway, MD, Helena Quade of Chaptico, MD, Betty Harrison of California, MD, Charlene Payne of Waldorf, MD, Tammy Dement of Lexington Park, MD, Ann Marie Gantt of Lexington Park, MD, Billiejo Dean of Lexington Park, MD and Michael Wathen of Leonardtown, MD, sister; Elaine Lombardo of Peekskill, NY, 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Ms. Wathen was preceded in death by 3 son's; Francis Payne, Edward Payne and John Wathen.

Family will receive friends for Betty's Life Celebration on Thursday, April 2, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the Brinsfield Funeral Home, where a Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend John Mattingly officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.
