James "Jim" Lloyd Bowles, 67, of Nahunta, Georgia passed away on March 30, 2024 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Jim was born on February 10, 1957, to John Lloyd Bowles and Marie Virginia Myers Bowles in Leonardtown, Maryland. Jim graduated from Chopticon High School in 1975. Enlisting into the United States Navy, Jim served 20 years retiring in 1996 after receiving multiple award and accommodations.

After retiring from the United States Navy, Jim went on to continue serving the government for an additional 27 years.

In 1975, Jim met Barbara Lynn King Bowles at St. Clements Shores, Maryland and married on September 4, 1976. Jim and Barb went on to have three children, Chrystal Lynn Morton (Ron Pace) Lisa Kay Coliflower (sp. E Howard Coliflower) and Chanda Lue Bowles.

In 2023, Jim officially retired from services with the United States government after which he spent his time researching and documenting personal genealogy as well as genealogy for St. Mary's County, Maryland.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara of Nahunta, Georgia; his children, Chrystal of Virginia, Lisa of Utah, and Chanda of Georgia; his siblings, Elizabeth "Betty" Bowles, Lorraine Bowles, Gloria Hauck, Brenda Jean King, and John Larry Bowles, Sr.; as well as many nieces and nephews. His grandchildren and honorary pallbearers are, Devon Molineaux, Madison "Ally" Molineaux, Aspen Coliflower, Bishop Coliflower, Adelynn "Addy" Morton, and Jamison "Aiden" Morton; his great grandchild, Kendrick Ray Molineaux.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday (April 13, 2024) from 12:45pm-1:45pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A graveside service will be held Saturday (April 13, 2024) at 2pm at Smyrna Cemetery, Smyrna Church Rd, Nahunta, GA 31553 with full Military honors.
