Mrs. Dolores Anne Lynch, 93, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2023 at her home in Compton, Maryland, surrounded by her loving children. She was the daughter of the late Ida and Benjamin Morgan and was the youngest of her 11 brothers and sisters who predeceased her in death. Mrs. Lynch was also predeceased in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, John Stephen Lynch, Jr.

Born on June 20, 1930, Dolores was a lifelong resident of Compton, Maryland. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1948 as class Salutatorian. She met her husband, "Johnny", while he was playing music at the Hill's Club. Johnny and Dolores married in 1949 and created a loving home on Rosebank Road where they raised their six children. Theirs was a love for all ages. Johnny and Dolores often opened their home to budding musicians, neighbors, family and friends.

Dolores is survived by her children: Gary Lynch (Marie) of Leonardtown, Maryland; Donna Lynch Russow (Terry Weigel) of Louisville, Kentucky; Cynthia Lynch Bischoff of Phoenix, Arizona; Victoria (Sam, predeceased in death) Spalding Dean (Kevin) of Hollywood, Maryland; John Joseph Lynch (Judy) of Caret, Virginia. and Dayna Beth Bischof (Tim) of St. Louis, Missouri. She is also survived by her brother-in-laws, Robert Lynch and Orem Hammett, and her sister-in-laws, Virginia Royston (Joe) all of Valley Lee and Margaret Bridgwater of Compton and many loving nieces, nephews and family.

Dolores' greatest love was being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She fondly recalled opening her home to her children's friends after their nights out and in her later years, loved to entertain sleepovers with her grandchildren and offer Play-doh dates with her great grandchildren. "GG" as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren fondly referred to her, had a zest for life that could not be matched! She had an incredible memory and a love for living. She delighted in the simple pleasures in life like sweet tea and chocolate. If anyone was going to live forever, it was going to be her.

Dolores (GG) will be sorely missed by her 8 grandchildren: (Shannon Spalding Armsworthy, Stephen Spalding, Matthew Frazer, Courtney Frazer Carter, Erika Lynch Roope, Jesse Lynch, Lauren Lynch Nichols, and Angela Allen. Play-doh and make believe will never be the same for the great grandchildren she leaves behind (Gracen, Parker, Ella, Noah, Zachary, Evelyn, Garrett, Alexander, Amelia, Colin and Morgan). Her family holds many treasured memories of GG playing cards, video games, "fishing" with leaves out of a bucket, and weaving endless imaginative stories. GG was pure magic to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dolores was a lifelong parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Parish in Newtowne Neck. All of her sacraments were conferred at St. Francis and she took great delight in being a CCD teacher there for over 30 years. She built strong relationships and lasting bonds with her students, parents and parishioners. Dolores held dear her many friendships, taking food to the sick, and loved entertaining in her home. She was a woman of love, wit, wisdom and boundless enthusiasm. Her family and Catholic faith were her greatest treasures.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Compton, MD, with Father Ryan Pineda officiating.
